Convention 2004 Tape Order Form
2004 Used Curriculum Information

From Ed Green, Executive Director - A heartfelt thank you to all who helped and volunteered with HOME's Convention 2004!! Your gifts of time, energy, and talents allow HOME to continue to minister to homeschoolers in our state. We could not co-ordinate a convention without your support. May the Lord richly bless each of you and your families.

Scripture tells us, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Those of us at HOME have a vision for homeschooling in Maine. Simply stated, that vision is to equip and encourage families to raise and teach their children for Christ through home education. Convention 2004 gave ample opportunity for attendees to catch or renew that vision.

After attending for the fifth year, one person commented, "I have really enjoyed this years conference and have come away with many new ideas - I am ready to go home and with God's help start implementing them Monday morning - thanks for setting apart this time each year for refreshment for homeschooling moms (and dads too! - editor), for encouragement in knowing we really are not alone and an opportunity for fresh new ideas! Thanks again!"

another adds, "I loved the spiritual focus of the last years (of convention workshops & general sessions - editor). I can't tell you how I have needed and appreciated having speakers who return me to the big picture of eternity and family closeness."

and one more, from a first time HOME Convention  attendee, "I was surprised at how much we learned and the encouragement we received even though this is our 12th year homeschooling."

I am encouraged to see more and more couples set aside this one weekend each year to focus on, plan for and prepare for the academic needs and, even more importantly, the spiritual needs of each of their children. Couples also focus on the needs in their relationship to each other and to Christ. Our speakers, workshops and vendors are meant to be a blessing to that end!

Believe it or not, plans for next year's convention are underway. Dr. Brian Ray from the National Home Education Research Institute in Salem, Oregon and his wife, Betsy, will join us as keynote speakers on April 8 and 9, 2005 at the Summit Conference Center in Bethel. He is a leading international expert with regard to homeschool (home school, home education) research. Dr. Ray executes and publishes research, speaks to the public, testifies before legislators, and serves as an expert witness in courts. Betsy is an engaging, sanguine homeschool mom who will keep you laughing! In addition, Richard "Little Bear" Wheeler, founder of Mantle Ministries, will be on hand to present portrayals of historical events and true stories not found in public instruction. We know that each of our speakers will bless you. Mark your calendar now, and plan to attend!

As you make plans throughout the year to attend next year's convention, please remember to pray for convention planners and coordinators, vendors, speakers and attendees alike, that all will become a part of HOME's vision for our children and our children's children. Pray that we can work together for Christ to raise Godly generations who will love and serve the Lord!
