World Ocean Explorer
Nell Herrmann Blue Hill, Maine, serves as the Educator Advisor for World Ocean Explorer, a free, web-based virtual aquarium designed to increase ocean literacy and inspire interest in ocean-related fields of study.
Through this immersive experience, users can explore a theme-based space about the deep sea, learn about rarely seen species and habitats, and connect to Ocean Literacy principles and Next Generation Science Standards. Nell will guide students through the platform, share ideas for connected activities, and answer participants’ questions. By the end of the session, students will feel confident navigating the platform independently.
