Space Day 2002...Adventure to Mars! is the award-winning educational initiative co-chaired by former Senator John Glenn. Space Day 2002 will be celebrated on Thursday, May 2 throughout the United States and around the world. One of the key Space Day educational programs is the Design Challenges which this year will challenge 4th-8th grade-level students to solve problems related to living and working on Mars. For children who are homeschooled, the Design Challenges offers a hands-on opportunity to flex their math and science know-how and talk to kids around the world. Last year, two of the twelve "Stellar" teams that received global recognition were students who were schooled at home.
