Convention 2003 From Ed Green, Executive Director - Many thanks to all who helped in any way with HOME's Thirteenth Annual Convention!! Many were blessed in so many ways, including the speakers and coordinators! Believe it or not, plans for next year's convention are underway. Dr. Brian Ray from the National Home Education Research Institute in Salem, Oregon and his wife Betsy will join us as keynote speakers on April 16 and 17, 2004 at the Summit Conference Center in Bethel. Other featured speakers will include Maggie Hogan and Carol Barnier whose articles appear in this online newsletter. We know that they will bless you. Mark your calendar now, and plan to attend! Scripture tells us, "Where there is no vision, the people perish." Those of us at HOME have a vision for homeschooling in Maine. Simply stated, that vision is to equip and encourage families to raise and teach their children for Christ through home education. We hope that our annual convention allows ample opportunity for attendees to catch or renew that vision each year! I am encouraged to see more and more couples set aside this one weekend each year to focus on, plan for and prepare for the academic needs and, even more importantly, the spiritual needs of each of their children. Couples also focus on the needs in their relationship to each other and to Christ. Our speakers, workshops and vendors are meant to be a blessing to that end! As you make plans throughout the year to attend next year's convention, please remember to pray for convention planners and coordinators, vendors, speakers and attendees alike, that all will become a part of HOME's vision for our children and our children's children. Pray that we can work together for Christ to raise Godly generations who will love and serve the Lord! |
