Volunteer Position DescriptionsThe following are brief descriptions of each position. For further details please call us at (207) 625-4408 or email us at volunteer@homeschoolersofmaine.org Please remember, for each position there will be ample training given and always someone available to answer any questions you may have. Registration - The volunteer for this position will be doing one of three things. (Your Choice)
Recording Table - The volunteer for this position will be taking orders, selling, and maybe some recording.
Workshop Recording - The volunteer for this position will put out a bottle of water for the speaker. Everything is already set up for recording, you will only need to push a button to start the recording.
Vendor Aids - Volunteers are needed on Thursday afternoon and Saturday afternoon. The volunteer for this position will beholding open doors and bringing boxes in for vendors. (carts are available) No unpacking involved. Good job for teens.
Vendor Bag Fillers - The volunteer for this position will be needed on Thursday afternoon. You will be filling the "goodie" bags that are passed out at the registration table. This is a job you could do with a child not old enough to volunteer on their own.
"Not So" Silent Auction - The volunteer for this position will need to be at the table for a 1 or 2 hour block. You will explain hoe the auction works, show people where to sign up and get a number, while keeping an eye on the table. Melanie will be passing by to answer questions and check on things. Good job for a teen or maybe a couple could split up the time.
HOME Table - Staff the HOME table for a specific amount of time (1 - 2 hours), and distribute HOME newsletters, flyers, and other information to interested attendees.
General Session Greeters - The volunteer for this position will greet people, coming into the session, at the door and pass out any hand outs the speaker might have.
Runners - The volunteer for this position will be provided a radio and be available to get anything a speaker or vendor might need. You could attend a workshop but must be able to leave quickly if needed. Great job for Dads and teens. Remember you will be trained and you will be supported.
