DAY 1: Rediscovering the Joy of Homeschooling

Session 1, 10:00am: This We Believe

Todd Wilson

Dads and moms, in all the busyness of life and swell of expert advice, we've forgotten the

fundamental truths of homeschooling and family. In short, we’ve forgotten why we do what

we do. We have plenty of “how tos” but have forgotten the “why tos” and it evidences itself

in our lack of joy of homeschooling, family, and parenting.

Join funny guy and family man, Todd Wilson, as he sets the stage for a great homeschool

convention and the best year ever as he brings us back to the basics of what we believe about

family and homeschooling. You're not going to want to miss this for the world.

Session 2, 2:00pm: Smile Stealers and Smile Makers

Todd Wilson

You started this homeschooling journey because you thought it was going to be fun. You envisioned yourself teaching your children and smiling through each day. Then something happened. You stopped smiling. There’s a reason for that and some things you can do tobring back those smiles not only for your self but for your children as well.

During our time together we’re going to look at the smile stealers and makers in your homeschooling world and get you smiling again. Because you have a lot to smile about!!!

Session 3, 4:00pm: Mr. Drew and His Animals too (Family Interest)

Mr. Drew

"Mr. Drew and His Animals Too" is an educational outreach presentation featuring exotic reptiles, amphibians and invertebrates from around the world that he has rescued and rehabilitated. He takes in what the humane societies will not to prevent the release of exotic species into the Maine ecosystem and currently cares for over 150 animals. You can visit his Education Center in Lewiston where you can See, Touch and Learn. He has been working with exotic animals for 35 years and his 60-75 minute presentation is fast paced, funny, very educational and appropriate for age 2-102!

Session 4, 6:30pm: The Life of Laura Ingalls Wilder in Story and Song (Family Interest)

John Notgrass

Laura Ingalls Wilder (1867-1957) left a lasting impact on American literature with her Little House series of books. In this presentation, John Notgrass takes you on a virtual tour of the places Laura lived, shares stories that didn't make it into her books, and performs songs that the Ingalls family enjoyed.

DAY 2: Standing for Truth

Session 1, 8:30am: They Look To You (Support Group Leaders)

Todd Wilson

Like it or not, when you’re a homeschool leader, people watch you. Younger moms look to

you for guidance and a pattern to follow. They want to be reminded that the sacrifices they

make now are worth it, that the young children who are dependent on them will grow up and

be okay, and that the dark days of monotonous toiling will be replaced by sunny days of

success.

There are husbands of homeschooling moms who are skeptical of the whole homeschooling

idea, who need to see positive examples, and be encouraged to be their wife’s knight in

shining armor.

These young homeschoolers need you to point them to the best materials, the most effective

products, and the most encouraging speakers. They look to you for answers, affirmation, and

strength, all the while longing to hear that they are normal for wanting to toss in the towel,

for feeling inadequate, and for failing to do what matters most.

That’s a big order to fill, but one that God has called you to. You don’t need to be perfect,

just real. Join Todd as he challenges you in the vital role you play as a homeschool leader.

Session 2, 10:00am: Raising Politically Incorrect Pink and Blue Kids in a Purple World

Todd Wilson

All children are created equal. Girls and Boys have equal importance and significance but there are certain responsibilities that we need to train our boys and girls differently. It’s not archaic or about inequality, it’s Biblical parenting and our children need us to prepare them for the future.

Join Todd as he tackles this sticky topic and combines laughter, truth, and practicality together for a vital topic in today’s wacky and purple world.

Session 3, 2:00pm: Don't Tell Me What You Believe....Live It!

Todd Wilson

There’s a lot of talk about Christian worldview. In fact, never before have Christian teens

received so much training in developing a proper worldview. But something seems

dreadfully wrong, because the truth is…there just doesn’t seem to be much difference

between “our teens” and “their teens.” To be honest there sometimes isn’t much different

between “our adults” and “their adults.” That’s about to change.

Join funny guy, Todd Wilson as he talks about a very REAL, Real Christian Worldview.

Now don’t think for one minute that Todd is going to give you a list of do’s and don’ts,

because he won’t, but he will challenge you right where you live. Together, we just might

change the world. You’re going to want to be here.

Session 4, 4:00pm: Dream Big (Teen Track)

Todd Wilson

Everyone has dreams - you, your spouse, and your children, but for every dreamer a dream killer lurks in the shadows. They're the ones who constantly remind you why you shouldn't

homeschool, have more children, be a stay-at-home mom, start a new business, or take that

step of faith God’s telling you to take. Dream killers grew up with you. They live in your

house and sometimes they even...are you.

Their intentions may be good, but if you listen to them, you will miss out on God's

best for your life. Join Todd as he helps you revive old dreams, fan the dreams in others’

lives, and urges you to throw caution to the wind and set sail for the adventure of a lifetime.

DAY 3: Homeschooling Requires Teamwork

Session 1, 10:00am: An Unbeatable Homeschool Team

Todd Wilson

Marriage is hard…in fact, it’s real hard! Yet when it is right and good, it can withstand

anything. It doesn’t matter what the economy does, the status of your bank account, the

condition of your home or vehicles, or what your children dish out…because when a husband

and wife are right, they’re unbeatable.

On the flip side, when a husband and wife feel distant or apathetic, it only takes the slightest

breeze to ruffle a bunch of feathers. The truth is a mediocre marriage sucks the joy right out

of life and your homeschool. The economy can swing up, your checking account can be

healthy, your home and vehicles can purr like kittens, and the kids can behave like angels,

and life still…stinks.

That’s because marriage matters.

Join Todd Wilson, The Familyman, for a time of laughter and encouragement as he shares

real life stories, problems, and frustrations along with practical, simple solutions to having a

marriage that can‘t be beat!

Session 2, 2:00pm: Every Dad a Homeschool Dad

Todd Wilson

You may not crack open a book, work through a curriculum, or call it school, but it's your job

to train your children. Join me as we look at the trials, triumphs, and tribulations of training our children. Now don't worry, I won't make you feel guilty or give you a forty-six point

outline, but I promise to tell it straight and to encourage you in the best job there is -

fathering.
