Child Protection

Over the years, HOME has had the privilege of serving and supporting thousands of homeschooling parents in Maine. Protecting and nurturing their children comes naturally to these parents. Dedicated and loving parents also want that same protection for all children.

All parents, as well as homeschooling parents and leaders, must be alert to any abuse or neglect in order to protect those who cannot protect themselves. Child abuse can include bullying, cyberstalking, sexual abuse, as well as physical abuse.

If you believe a child is in danger due to abuse, call the police. If you believe a child is at risk of imminent harm, call 911.

Please read Addressing Child Abuse, an article provided by Home School Legal Defense Association (HSLDA), to help you to become more aware of child abuse and neglect, and learn what can be done to provide help and hope.
