Classes for Your Homeschool

Add Enrichment to Your Program!

HOME recognizes that families value educational experiences that come from knowledgeable professionals. With that in mind, we will be partnering with organizations to offer you both online

and in-person classes that will help you to meet some of the course content required by Maine's homeschool statute.

Food is all around you!

Join us in the beautiful mountains of Western Maine for an introduction to foraging wild plants that might just start you on the road to a life-long pursuit of some of the tastiest and most nutritious food around. You will learn to identify common edible plants, and also some that are medicinal and can be used to treat cuts and scrapes. We will also show you how to process acorns into a flour, and we will make a wild tea to drink. You’ll go home knowing how to make a wild salad from the plants in your own backyard!

Dates: June 28, 29, 30 (pick one)

Time: 12:00 - 4:00pm

Cost: $26.50 per child (will include a small goodie bag and roasting marshmallows for the end.)

Location: Moose Ridge Wilderness School

There are many hotels and inns in Bethel (30 minutes away). Upton House Inn is only a mile away. Families are also welcome to camp at the school for the night before and/or after the program.
