HOME recognizes that families value educational experiences that come from knowledgeable professionals. With that in mind, we will be partnering with organizations to offer you both online
and in-person classes that will help you to meet some of the course content required by Maine's homeschool statute.
Join us in the beautiful mountains of Western Maine for an introduction to foraging wild plants that might just start you on the road to a life-long pursuit of some of the tastiest and most nutritious food around. You will learn to identify common edible plants, and also some that are medicinal and can be used to treat cuts and scrapes. We will also show you how to process acorns into a flour, and we will make a wild tea to drink. You’ll go home knowing how to make a wild salad from the plants in your own backyard!
