Artificial intelligence is remaking the world. Are there dangers and pitfalls for homeschoolers to consider? While each technological advance deserves careful and impartial consideration, it's imperative that we evaluate the risks. Will a loss of our humanity and human dignity result? Will our children's ability to think critically and creatively suffer? What other impacts will AI have?
More will be coming from HOME on this topic in the weeks and months ahead! Stay tuned!
To help you navigate this important issue, we have provided some resources below.
"Our faces and voices are unique, distinctive features of every person; they reveal a person’s own unrepeatable identity and are the defining elements of every encounter with others... Faces and voices are sacred." -- Pope Leo XIV
"Two things were foremost on my mind that morning: Dante Alighieri’s Inferno and the takeover of generative A.I. in nearly every sphere of life."

Make a conscious decision to unplug at certain times and places during each day. The results will be better health. spiritual growth, and more personal connection within your family. Here are some ideas:
1. Designate some tech-free spaces in your home, such as the dinner table, a cozy reading corner, an arts and crafts station, or a puzzle table.
2. Use real books! There is something very special about opening a book to find the wonder and read the printed words on a page. Even textbooks and workbooks can surprise us by engaging our senses in greater depth. Scientific studies show that reading physical books improve memory, focus and language processing skills!
3. Take LOTS of field trips! Immerse your children in the world around them. Interactions with people, places and things build strong social and communication skills, enhance learning, and deepen understanding.
5. Incorporate nature study in your day. Children are born naturalists and thrive in the outdoors. The British educator, Charlotte Mason, recommended 4-6 hours a day outside for young children to nourish their intellect, strengthen observation skills, and foster spiritual growth.
