Vendor/Exhibitor Information

 

Participate as a vendor or exhibitor at HOME's Annual Convention! This page contains all the information and forms you will need to register.

Event Sponsor - Sponsoring HOME’s Annual Convention helps support HOME financially, while giving you maximum coverage during our three day event and into the rest of the year.  This package includes a standard booth; ½ page ad in the annual HOME Digest; ½ page ad in the Beginner’s Handbook; printed material of your choice, which you provide for the Event Bag; an ad promoting you as the event sponsor on the HOME Table during the event; a link to your website from ours, from the time you register until after the event.

Silent Auction - This is a fundraising event for HOME.  For company or business visibility, make a donation to our silent auction, which is held during the Convention.  To advertise your product/service, include a business card or letter sized poster, so that bidders may associate you with your particular item.

Event Bag - Include 800 copies of a single printed item (brochure, flyer, catalog, business card) into a packet to be given to each family at the Convention.  Additionally, bags not distributed at Convention will be distributed throughout the year at other events, including our Used Curriculum Sale& Expo and our Getting Started Workshops.  They will also be available to those who visit the HOME Office for curriculum consulting and other services.

 

 HOME does not have the staff to verify the arrival of packages.  We ask that you track your shipments if you are concerned about them arriving. 

 

This option is FREE for first time vendors! 

This option is FREE to vendors who donate an item to the Silent Auction that is $100 or greater in value.

Convention Program - Place an ad in our printed Convention Program.  One program is distributed to each family as they register.  Each year, we anticipate handing out 400 of these programs to convention goers.

Booth Space - Rent booth space in one of our exhibit halls during Convention.  Those vendors who set up in the exhibit halls also have the option of being a vendor workshop speaker.  Vendors who register by the Early Bird Deadline are guaranteed a company listing in the Event Program.  All vendors will have a link to their website on HOME’s Convention Exhibitor List page.   An additional discount for Interactive Children’s Activities is available to those who provide educational hands-on activities to convention goers throughout the event.

Interactive Children’s Booths – These booths provide interactive activities for children of all ages who are attending the Convention with their families.  The activity must be ongoing throughout the event weekend.  Please submit a brief description of your activity on the back side of your vendor registration form.

Vendor Workshop – A vendor workshop allows you an opportunity to share your product or service in greater detail.  Vendor workshops run concurrent with convention workshops each day (room seats approximately 75).  A very limited number of 60 minute vendor workshops are available.  These are assigned on a first come, first served basis, so please apply early.  Full payment must be received to be considered.  Requests for vendor workshops are subject to HOME approval, and will not be processed until all paperwork and payment have been submitted.  Only companies who have booth space in the Exhibit Hall are eligible to apply for a vendor workshop.  If you have AV needs, the Samoset Resort does rent out equipment.  You can obtain a price list and availability at:  207.593.1532.

Additional Attendees – HOME allows for each vendor to have a total of two free attendees for the weekend.  Any additional attendees, even if there will only be two on any given day, must pay the additional attendee fee.


Cost:  $10/person when pre-registering.  $15/person if added during Convention.


 

Set Up – Vendors are expected to set up on Thursday prior to the event. HOME's Exhibit Hall Coordinator will be available for vendor check-in and set-up as early as 11:00 am on Thursday.  The vendor hall doors open to the public at 4:00 pm on that day. 

 


Lodging - Staying at the Samoset Resort allows you to be conveniently down the hall from the Exhibit Halls for the entire event.  For more information, visit the Lodging Section HERE.

VENDOR RULES

 

PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU SEND IN YOUR VENDOR APPLICATION.  THANK YOU.

 

Booths – Each booth will consist of one 6’ table with covering, two chairs within an 8’x8’ booth space.  The size is approximate.  This area will be taped off.  There will be no draping.  You may bring your own additional table or rent them if needed.  You may purchase electricity separately.  No exhibit will be permitted to extend outside the designated booth area.  Exhibitors may not solicit outside the designated booth area.

 

Assignment of Space – Location assignments will be made by the Vendor Coordinator on a priority basis determined by the previous years’ booth assignments and availability of space at the time application and payment are received.  HOME reserves the right to alter location of booths, if deemed advisable and in the best interest of the Convention.  Vendors may not share booth space with any other company or organization, or display materials for another company or organization.

 

Refund Policy – Exhibitor cancellation of signed paid application, before 90 days of the event will receive 90% refund on the booth rental space monies paid.  Cancellation before 60 days of the event will receive a 75% refund of booth rental monies ONLY if the vacated space is resold.  After 60 days, no refunds will be issued for any reason, unless the booth space has been resold.  All requests must be made in writing through postal mail.

 

Damages – Vendors are liable for any damages caused to the building floors, walls, or other vendor property.  Vendors must not apply any adhesive to the walls.

Thursday 4 -7 PM  

Friday 8AM – 6PM

Saturday 8AM -3PM

 

 

Thursday evening's shopping hours are prime time for vendors, as you have the undivided attention of your patrons.  There are no scheduled workshops or activities during this time to draw the attention of Convention goers away from the Exhibit Hall.

 

HOME requests that all vendors stay open until the closing time of the last day to allow shoppers ample time to visit all vendors.  If a vendor is found leaving early, they risk not being invited back the following year.  Exhibit halls must be vacated within 1 (one) hour after closing on the final event day.         

 

Electricity and Lighting – Any exhibitor purchasing electricity is required to bring a 15’ – 25’ extension cord.  Lighting may be inadequate for your needs depending on your location.  If this is important to you, order electricity and bring lights. 

  

New Exhibitors – Please enclose a detailed and accurate description of your complete line of products, or services and/or company brochure.  We cannot process your application without this information. 

 

Standards – HOME reserves the right to exclude specific items or entire displays which in HOME’s opinion would be inappropriate for display during the event.  Vendors who refuse to remove items deemed inappropriate by HOME will be asked to leave without refund.  Participation at HOME events implies an understanding of and agreement to the conditions and releases HOME from any financial or other liability.

 

Additional AV Requirements– If you have additional needs for AV Equipment, please contact the site where the event is being hosted to make your own arrangements for these, as early as possible prior to the event.
